SearchNode, a Lithuanian technology startup with a focus on advanced search technology, has recently been acquired by Finnish AI-powered commerce experience platform Nosto.
SearchNode was founded in 2013 by Antanas Bakšys, Lukas Mikuckis and Ringaudas Kalinauskas as a company that develops search technologies mainly for big eCommerce companies. With eCommerce, software engineering and natural language processing as their areas of focus, the platform became used by over 100 online stores North America and Europe.
Recently Nosto, a commerce experience platform that helps retailers build and optimize marketing campaigns as well as digital experiences for their customers, has announced acquiring SearchNode. This is the second time that Nosto has acquired another company, with the first one being Stackla in May 2021.
Nosto adds SearchNode’s natural language processing search technology to its arsenal
As a platform that is powered by AI, Nosto has many areas of focus such as content personalization and segmentation. Helping eCommerce companies provide personalized shopping experiences across different platforms, Nosto serves numerous brands in over 100 countries all over the world. With this recent acquisition, Nosto will be adding a very useful technology that SearchNode has been focusing on; natural language processing.
SearchNode co-founder and CEO Antanas Bakšys states that they will now be able to combine SearchNode’s natural language processing search technology with Nosto’s market-leading personalization and merchandising capabilities. About the acquisition and the new opportunities that it can bring, Jim Lofgren, the CEO of Nesto, says:
“As we integrate personalized search into our AI-powered commerce experience platform, for the first time, retailers will be able to leverage the full power of search data across the entire store to deliver seamlessly connected, personalized commerce experiences from the moment a user lands on their site.”
