Odense-based biotech startup Bioomix has announced a major milestone with a $6.7 million investment round led by West Hill Capital, alongside existing investors such as PreSeed Ventures, Planetary Impact Ventures, HBL Invest, and David Hollidge. The startup develops all-natural microbial products that can help farmers achieve a higher and better yield with fewer chemicals and emissions. This funding will propel Bioomix on its mission to revolutionize agriculture by harnessing the power of nature and naturally occurring microbes to create eco-friendly alternatives for farmers.
Bioomix, co-founded by Morten Østergaard Andersen and Julia Magdalena Østergaard Andersen, has developed groundbreaking technology called microbeTRAP. This innovative method employs 3D bioprinting to identify high-performing microbes from the environment, offering a sustainable and efficient alternative to synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Bioomix’s first product, SeedSpeed®, a biostimulant, was launched after just 17 months of operation.
