It's incredible how many very successful YC startups there are. Just look at the YC Top Revenue list.
Almost all of those companies raised their first rounds from investors that saw them debut at YC Demo Day. YC is undeniably an integral part of the venture capital ecosystem, helping to shine the first spotlight on many of the companies that go on to be featured high up in a huge font on the top VC portfolio pages.
But if you’re only looking at investor tweets, it can seem like they’ve got frustrations with YC — be it with the “too high” valuations YC companies get, or the “too fast” speed at which investments move at Demo Day.
Would-be founders: When later stage investors complain, as they always do, that the Demo Day valuations of YC companies are too high, what they're saying is that doing YC will enable you to raise money with less dilution.
