IT & Smart Cities: Arctic15 goes Tampere

On February 2nd 2022, at the brand new Nokia Arena – Arctic15 x Tampere. We have partnered up with the City of Tampere, Platform6 and Tampereen Messut to bring some Arctic15 startup magic inside DigITre and Tampere Smart City Week Conference and Expo events. Tampere is a fast-developing, modern city, offering startups and investors great opportunities, so we are excited to come and see and experience it for ourselves and to facilitate new connections and deals for everyone joining.

We’ll host a startup stage program and demo area between 10:00-16:00h, and in addition to startup showcases and pitches, the program focus will be on startup-corporate collaborations, early-stage investments, Smart Cities and the overall IT industry. And of course, the networking part will be there as the goal is to find new partners and get plenty of deals activated!

Some of the speakers include Peter Vesterbacka (FinEst Bay Area), Terhi Vapola (Helen Ventures), Alexandra Santos (Platform6), Miimu Airaksinen (SRV) and business angels Jussi Heinilä, Pia Kantola and Tuomas Pahlman. New speakers are added to the event website regularly.

Business-friendly activities and supporting startups lie in multiple ways in the core of Tampere Mayor’s Program and City Strategy. We are keen to understand what businesses and startups want most and how to accelerate collaborative and sustainable growth. The international ambition of Platform6 Startup Hub got us to kickstart Arctic15 x Tampere Event with the unique value: finding globally new solutions and business opportunities in the fields of Smart City Technologies, and creating a safe space for Startup, Talented Tech, ICT, Business and Smart City People to meet each other.”
Timo Antikainen, Director of Business Development, City of Tampere.

Business Tampere is an active Stakeholder operating with growth companies to support their Internationalization with services offered. The work done over the past 3-4 years to develop the startup -ecosystem, is becoming noticeable. It is a great opportunity to connect Arctic15 as part of Tampere Smart City Week -event and other startup activities in Tampere.”

Niina Immonen, Director, business service development and business environment at Business Tampere

As the program happens inside two trade shows, this will differ from the standalone Arctic15 experience, but the exciting thing is that it is free to attend for everyone and there will be a lot of potential corporate clients looking for partners. Public registration and startup applications for pitching and demo table slots are open now!

If you are a startup with a ready product or service to sell, and you want to pitch it on stage to potential investors, clients or partners, you can apply for a pitching slot. The same goes for a demo booth. See the details and apply via the event website.

See you in Tampere!
