Established in 2019 by the brains behind SkipTheDishes, Neo’s aim was to shake up everyday banking for consumers, offering a range of products for both individual and business clients, covering everything from savings and spending to investing and embedded finance.

Neo Financial is seeking a full-time front-end software developer for its Calgary office. The role centres around developing front-end services, focusing on automated testing, and conducting thorough code reviews.

In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring code quality and managing projects from their inception to deployment in an environment with minimal bureaucracy and meetings. The ideal applicant should have at least 10 years of experience in software engineering, proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, and expertise in version control, unit test authoring, code review, and deployment strategies.

Float Financial Solutions

Toronto FinTech startup Float, known for its all-in-one corporate card and expense management software, aims to make spending tracking and control easier for Canadian businesses. The startup is on the hunt for a senior full stack engineer to help create products that are both simple and intuitive, specifically tailored for their SMB customers.

The chosen candidate will play a key role in developing credit products tailored to Float’s customers, taking into account factors like financial profiles, real-time account balances, monthly spending, and working capital needs.

Float is seeking an engineer with a minimum of five years of full stack development experience, preferably in a B2B SaaS setting. The ideal candidate should also have a solid history of delivering high-quality products and features at scale.

Ripple

Ripple, a US company focused on developing cryptocurrency solutions for financial institutions, is expanding its team in Toronto, particularly for the RippleNet Payments division. The Toronto office, which opened last year, is dedicated to advancing Ripple’s work in blockchain, machine learning, and payment solutions.

Ripple is seeking senior software engineers who will be tasked with creating reliable, high-performance, low-latency microservices that facilitate cross-border transactions. These roles require a blend of skills in software engineering, data engineering, and distributed systems to develop cutting-edge enterprise payment applications.

Ideal candidates for Ripple should have five to seven years of experience in software development, particularly on large-scale distributed systems. Proficiency in Java or similar programming languages is essential, with a minimum of three years of experience. Applicants should also be skilled in building transactional systems supported by modern persistence technologies, deploying containerized applications in distributed computing environments, and working within agile development methodologies.
